James was the Cinematographer and Dave was the Visual Effects Supervisor. Multiple video plates, HDRI light probes, a 3D door, HDR rendering and compositing, virtual camera movement, volumetric smoke, miniature smoke, cloud tank effects, and a heck of a lot of fun resulted in the visual effects in this short. Here's what we did.</itunes:summary>
<enclosure url="http://www.ghostlightdigital.com/portfolio/popit/visualeffects/ipod/pop-it-vfx-ipod.m4v" length="50794961" type="video/x-m4v" />
<guid>http://www.ghostlightdigital.com/portfolio/popit/visualeffects/ipod/pop-it-vfx-ipod.m4v</guid>
<pubDate>Thu, 05 Jul 2007 12:00:00 PDT</pubDate>
<itunes:duration>4:19</itunes:duration>
<itunes:explicit>clean</itunes:explicit>
<itunes:keywords>ghostlight, productions, digital, codeglia, visual effects, graphics, special effects, fx, compositing, Pop It, Invisible Engine Films, nuke, atom, bomb, explosion, door, HDRI, cloud tank, nuclear, Los Angeles, behind the scenes, how to, progression</itunes:keywords>
</item>

<item>
<title>The Prototype - Clip</title>
<itunes:author>Ghostlight Productions</itunes:author>
<description>Editing: a scene from the feature film.</description>
<itunes:subtitle>Editing: a scene from the feature film.</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>&quot;The Prototype&quot; is a feature film produced by Invisible Engine Films. They hired David Codeglia as Editor, but that's not all we did on the project. For this train shot, the original plan was to cut between shots of the main character standing on the tracks and shots of the train approaching. We suggested adding a CG train to a shot that wasn't intended to be a special effect. There were no reference photos taken of the train or location, and the shot was handheld. We tinkered around for a while and here's what we came up with.
